Waukegan Man Arrested for Driving with Suspended License, Pot Possession

There were several other driving arrests in Highland Park last week.

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Driving with a suspended license, possession of cannabis

Antonio Butler, 22, of the 0-50 block of Prairie View Court in Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, no rear taillights illuminated, uninsured motor vehicle, no valid registration and possession of cannabis after being stopped by police near Chantilly Blvd. and Skokie Valley Road at 4 a.m. Sept. 2. Butler was released on a personal recognizance bond with an Oct. 8 court date.

Driving while license suspended

Darryon Brewer, 25, of the 1500 block of Oakwood Avenue in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after police responded to a two-car accident near Green Bay Road and Walnut Street at 8:45 p.m. Sept. 5. Brewer was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Sept. 24 court date.

Nelida Arellanes, 33, of the 300 block of E. Waukegan Avenue in Highwood, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and no rear registration lamp illuminated after being stopped by police near Half Day Road and Trail Way at 12:15 a.m. Sept. 7. Arellanes was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Sept. 24 court date.

David Johnson, 43, of the 1900 block of Emerson in Evanston, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, expired registration and uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road at 1 a.m. Sept. 7. He was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Sept. 24 court date.

Erin Murtha, 29, of the 5600 block of N. Ridge in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and one headlight illuminated after being stopped by police in the 1000 block of Park Avenue West at 2 a.m. Sept. 8. Murtha was released on a personal recognizance bond with an Oct. 8 court date
