50 Top-Paid Teachers in Hinsdale Earned More Than $127,000 Last Year

Who said there wasn't any money in teaching?

A handful of educators in Hinsdale are breaking the stereotype that there isn’t any money in teaching.

The highest-paid teacher in Hinsdale was paid $126,878 last year, the DuPage Policy Journal reported.

The top 50 highest-paid teachers in Hinsdale Township High School District 86 all earned almost $127,000 last year, according to Illinois State Board of Education. Those numbers represent full adjusted pay, which takes into account the teachers' benefits and pension contributions by taxpayers for each teacher.

Thomas Dorrance, a teacher at Hinsdale Central High School, earned the highest number in full adjusted pay among all teachers in the district in 2015. No benefits are included in that amount.

Overall, Hinsdale Township District 86 spent $6,343,900 on its 50 top-paid teachers last year.
