
A Clarendon Hills teen has been selected to play the part of the baker in the Illinois Theatre Association's 2011 All State Production of "Into the Woods."
Benet Academy student Brett Bush of Clarendon Hills was selected to join the ensemble cast out of more than 300 students who auditioned for roles in the production.
Bush is a member of Benet's select choral group, the Madrigal Singers, and has been a part of every Benet drama production since his freshman year. He has participated in chorus, theatre, and band during his four years at Benet and is the Mass Choir Director at the school.

Bush has performed in eight musical theatre productions at North Central College, which included a lead role in an original musical titled, "Lunacy." He plans to major in Music Education in college.
The Illinois High School Theatre Festival was founded in 1974 and is
the largest and oldest non-competitive high school theatre festival in
the world. Every year, more than 4,000 students, teachers, university
representatives, exhibitors, and volunteers come together for three
days to put on more than 25 different high school productions and over 150 workshops.

Festival highlights include college and university auditions for
high school seniors, professional development for teachers, a student
film festival, and the annual All-State Production, featuring student
cast, crew, and orchestra members from across the state.
Auditions for the All State Production are held in June, and the cast
meets on weekends and holidays to put the show together.
The All State Production of "Into the Woods" will run from Jan. 6 - 8 at the University of Illinois.
