Christmas Decoration Thief, Drug Arrests, Domestic Abuse: Hinsdale Police Blotter

Take a look at what the Hinsdale Police Department has been busy with for the past week.

The following items were taken from the Hinsdale police blotter throughout the past week. An arrest doesn't constitute a finding of guilt.

Domestic battery

  • Broderick Sturms, 23, of Hinsdale was arrested at 11:19 p.m. Jan. 12 for insulting and/or provoking a family member. He was charged and taken into DuPage County Jail.

Identity theft

  • A resident living in the 200 block of East Walnut Street told police Jan. 12 that late last December, someone tried to use their identity to open a credit card.

Drugs

  • Omokhefue Sado, 20, was arrested at 2:42 a.m. Jan. 11 in the 700 block of South Lincoln Street when cops noticed an odor of marijuana on him and checked him for drugs. He turned out to be in possession of both marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and he was charged and released to appear in court.

Theft

  • A resident living in the 1400 block of Burr Oak Road reported that sometime between Dec. 19 and Dec. 20 of last year, someone broke into their closet and stole Christmas decorations. The incident wasn’t reported until Jan. 10.

Curfew

  • Two underage children were found in a car in Robbins Park after their curfew, police reported Wednesday. They were returned to their parents by the officers who found them around 2:51 a.m. Jan. 15.

Burglary to motor vehicle

  • Someone gained entry to an unlocked car parked in the 300 block of East Ogden Avenue around midnight Jan. 13 and allegedly stole a black plow remote (car part). The incident is still being investigated.
