CLARENDON HILLS — Metra riders should find an alternate station at least through Thursday, as service remains halted at the Clarendon Hills station, 1 S. Prospect Ave., following a fatal crash involving a train and a semi-truck.

The Wednesday morning crash killed a woman who was a passenger on a train and injured several passengers and employees. Authorities have not released the woman's name.

"The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is doing an investigation into the incident today, we don't expect train service at the Clarendon location until cleared by the NTSB and Metra," the village said in an update to residents. "Additionally, the safety equipment at the crossing is not functional at this time. This intersection/crossing is still closed to pedestrians and cars."
