Clarendon Hills Trustee Resigns; Service Praised
The village will start finding a new trustee, the village president said.

CLARENDON HILLS, IL – Clarendon Hills Trustee Denise Kavuliak, who was appointed to the Village Board in February, has resigned, the village announced Tuesday.
Village President Eric Tech praised her service.
"Although Trustee Kavuliak’s time on the Board was brief, her impact was significant," Tech said in a news release. "She approached her responsibilities with professionalism and care, demonstrating responsiveness, thoughtfulness, and a willingness to lead on key initiatives."

Kavuliak filled the seat vacated by Steve Tuttle, who resigned in December.
In a letter to Tech on Friday, Kavuliak said she informed him verbally two days earlier.

"My personal circumstances have changed, which no longer allow me to devote the time and attention I believe the role of Village Trustee needs," she wrote. "Please know that the reasons for my resignation are purely personal and have no connection to anything related to my role as village trustee."
In the release, Tech said he would start the process to appoint a new trustee to serve the remainder of the term, which lasts until spring 2027.
Kavuliak left a few weeks after she and other trustees voted for a severance agreement with Village Manager Zach Creer. This was after he was placed on leave for more than a month.
Officials have not explained the situation.
