Clarendon Hills Trustee Steps Down From Village Board

The trustee cited her reason for leaving the board. The village president is picking her successor.

CLARENDON HILLS, IL — Clarendon Hills Trustee Carol Jorissen has stepped down from the Village Board, saying she is moving out of the village.

On Tuesday night, the Village Board adopted a resolution, thanking Jorissen for her contributions to the village.

“Be it further resolved that the president and Board of Trustees extend our heartfelt appreciation, individually and collectively, to Trustee Jorissen for her knowledge, support and loyal service to the village,” the resolution said.

Jorissen was elected in 2015 and re-elected in 2019. She served on various Village Board committees. She served as chairwoman of the Finance Committee, vice chairwoman of the Community and Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, and a member of the Public Services Committee and the Liquor Control Commission.

“Overall, serving on the board was a rewarding and positive experience. I would encourage others to get involved,” Jorissen told Patch.

Jorissen's resignation took effect Tuesday night, Village Manager Kevin Barr said. Village President Len Austin will now be tasked to appoint her successor, which he is expected to do at the July 18 board meeting. Jorissen’s successor will serve the rest of her term, which ends next year.
