Fire Severely Damages Hinsdale House: Authorities
A passerby alerted the home's sleeping occupants, according to the fire department.
HINSDALE, IL – A fire severely damaged a house late Sunday night in a Hinsdale neighborhood, the local fire department said. No one was reported injured.
Shortly after 10 p.m., the department was informed of the fire at 236 S. Bruner St., according to a news release.
Several neighbors called 911 and reported flames coming from the house.

The occupants were sleeping when the fire started, with a passerby alerting them, authorities said. They were out of the house by the time firefighters arrived.
The fire was contained to the front porch and front rooms of the home's first and second floors.

The fire's cause is under investigation, but it is believed to be accidental, the news release said. Extensive smoke damage was reported throughout the house.
The damage was estimated at $900,000, the fire department said.
Fire departments from Clarendon Hills, Oak Brook, Pleasantview and Western Springs showed up, according to the release.
