Hard Keeping Track Of Her: Hinsdale Star Student
"She makes me lose my head trying to keep up," her mother says.

HINSDALE, IL – Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Tiniko Scott-Tincu, who nominated Makenzie, an 11th grader at Hinsdale Central.

How do you know the star local student?
I'm the mother
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Makenzie is involved in so many activities, she makes me lose my head trying to keep up. Makenzie is on Varsity Cheer, Soccer, Girls Wrestling, Hinsdale Company dance team, Executive Board for Black Student Union at Hinsdale Central and is still maintaining a 3.8 academically. Makenize is not afraid to be the first at something and will go the distance to pull others along and try something new. When Makenzie first started at HC it was remote learning her freshman year. I thought it would hinder her from creating those bonds with other classmates, but it seems like that is what gave her drive and passion to exel higher.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Makezine is an artist with great drawing ability and just as great of a dancer. She is also a debutante in the Alpha Kappa Alpha Phi Epsilon Omega - Shades of Pink Cotillion this Spring. This will be her debut to society.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Makenzie, 11th grader!
