HINSDALE, IL – The Hinsdale High School District 86 board may appoint an attorney after a closed session Saturday.

Its agenda lists the appointment as a "possible action."

A year ago, the board selected Evergreen Park-based Odelson, Murphey, Frazier & McGrath as its main law firm.

The board appears to be happy with the firm's services. Members are likely looking to hire another lawyer for a narrow purpose.

In response to Patch's inquiry, board President Catherine Greenspon said it was inappropriate to comment at this time. But she said that as the president, she was satisfied with Odelson's performance.

Saturday will be the third day in a row that the board meets. The board is interviewing candidates for superintendent during closed sessions.

District 86 is still fighting a lawsuit from its former law firm, Chicago-based Robbins Schwartz, which terminated its relationship in September 2024.

Robbins contends that the district failed to pay for $228,000 in legal services.
