Capstone classes from Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South visit Metropolitan Water Reclamation District

Architecture and engineering capstone students from Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South recently toured the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, which treats wastewater and manages stormwater across the Chicago region. The agency plays a critical role in protecting public health and the environment.

During the visit, students explored the facilities and participated in a question-and-answer session focused on career pathways. Discussions highlighted opportunities for students pursuing four-year universities, as well as options such as apprenticeships, trade programs and community colleges.

The experience supports the Illinois State Board of Education’s push for college and career readiness by promoting career awareness, exploration and authentic interaction with professionals in the field.
