Hinsdale Central student-athlete named Navy All-American, honors teacher
Senior kicker Micah Drescher credits teacher Mr. Schlamann for lasting influence
Hinsdale Central High School senior student athlete and kicker Micah Drescher has been selected to play in this year’s Navy All-American Bowl, one of the nation’s premier high school football all-star games.
As part of the jersey presentation, each All-American was asked to recognize a teacher who has had a strong impact on his life. Drescher chose Mr. John Schlamann, a teacher at Hinsdale Central, citing his influence both on and off the field.
The Navy All-American Bowl, which will feature top players from across the country, will honor Drescher’s accomplishments and the educators who helped guide him. Drescher will represent Hinsdale Central when he competes against the nation’s best later this year.
