Hinsdale D86 Again Earns Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting

Hinsdale, IL - Hinsdale Township High School District 86 reported that the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International has again awarded its Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award to District 86 for having met or exceeded the program’s high standards for financial reporting and accountability.

The District was recognized for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015, making this the second year in a row that District 86 has earned a Certificate of Excellence.

“Receiving this award demonstrates the commitment District 86 Administration and its Business Office have made to sound financial management,” said Chief Financial Officer Bill Eagan. “We are pleased that ASBO has recognized our efforts again this year and we will continue our efforts to pursue excellence in financial management practices.”

According to the award sponsor, the Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company (VALIC), the Certificate of Excellence award confirms the school business office’s commitment to financial accountability and transparency. Recognition through the program can help strengthen a district’s presentation for bond issuance statements and promotes a high level of financial reporting.

District 86 ASBO International is a professional organization of 5,000 members that provides programs and services to promote the highest standards of school business management practices, professional growth, and the effective use of education resources.
