Hinsdale, IL - The Hinsdale Police Department joined forces with other state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the Illinois St. Patrick’s Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdown.
During the recent St. Patrick’s Day crackdown, the Hinsdale Police Department issued:

- 13 citations for speeding
- 1 citation for a cell phone violation
- 1 driving while license suspended arrest
- 2 citations for underage consumption of alcohol
- 2 citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle
- 6 citations for other violations to the Illinois Vehicle Code
The crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.
In 2014, on average, one person was killed every 53 minutes in a drunk-driving crash in the United States. That means there was a total of 9,967 drunk-driving fatalities that year in America.
