Hinsdale Resident Victim of U.S. Marshals Scam: Police
In another case, someone drove onto a yard in a local neighborhood, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:
Scam
- A resident in the 500 block of East Third Street told police Saturday about receiving a call from someone posing as a U.S. Marshals Service employee. The resident was instructed to deposit money from a bitcoin ATM to settle an arrest warrant. The resident provided personal information to the suspect, but recognized the scam before sending money.

- A person drove onto a yard Thursday in the 300 block of South Park Avenue, damaging trees and landscaping.
Threatening messages
- A resident in the 10 block of South Clay Street received threatening text messages from a stranger Thursday. The case is pending.

- A 58-year-old Lyons man was arrested about 8 p.m. May 20 at Ogden Avenue and Madison Street on charges of DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper backing of a vehicle on a roadway. He refused to be tested for his blood-alcohol content. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
- A 35-year-old Hinsdale man who lives in the 200 block of South Adams Street was arrested at his house on a Will County warrant charging DUI. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
