​Hinsdale Shop Puts Town On Map 'In Whole New Way': Official

A billionaire and a Bulls player show up for the opening celebration.

HINSDALE, IL – A crowd showed up Friday for the opening celebration of Break Point, a high-end sports card and memorabilia shop in Hinsdale.

The new shop is at 100 Chestnut St., where Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy used to be.

At the event were billionaire Michael Rubin and Matas Buzelis, a former Hinsdale Central basketball player who now plays for the Chicago Bulls.

Rubin is the founder of the digital sports platform Fanatics. Break Point is affiliated with Fanatics and owned by Marco Piemonte, a partner in the Piemonte Auto Group.

In a Facebook post, Village President Greg Hart said the opening marked a "big day" for downtown Hinsdale.

"Break Point isn't just a card shop — it's a new kind of destination for collectors, sports fans, and culture lovers across the Chicago suburbs," Hart said. "It's also another sign that Hinsdale is continuing to evolve while staying true to what makes it special."

He continued, "We’re proud to be the home of a concept that's helping put Hinsdale on the map in a whole new way."
