Hit-and-Run, Identity Theft Make Appearances on Hinsdale Police Blotter

No one was hurt in the hit-and-run.

A hit-and-run, identity theft and possession of controlled substances all made appearances on this week’s Hinsdale police blotter.

Hit-and-run
A driver, who hasn’t yet been identified, hit another car while it was parked in a lot at the Colonial Gardens Apartments on 5508 S. Madison St. The front passenger wheel well on the hit car was damaged, police said, and the car was scratched up. The accident took place sometime between 2 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 19. No one was hurt.

Theft
An employee at Manor Care on W. Ogden Ave. said her credit cards and $30 in cash were stolen from her purse, which she’d left in her office. The person who took her cards used them to make six transactions, police said. The amount she has lost isn’t known at the time of publication.

Identity theft
Although no amount of cash is reported as having been stolen, an unknown person used a victim’s identity to open two new credit cards accounts.

Possession of drug paraphernalia
A 13-year-old and 17-year-old, who we won’t name since they’re underage, were arrested on the 400 block of N. Quincy St. for selling an unspecified product without a permit. The 13-year-old was also arrested for having drug accessories on his person.
