Juvenile Girl Injured Monday in Hinsdale Assault: Police

Hinsdale police are asking residents for information or security video of the assault near Clay Street and Hinsdale Avenue.

Hinsdale, IL - A girl was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove after she was reportedly hit and knocked to the ground around 2 p.m. April 4 near Clay Street and Hinsdale Avenue in Hinsdale, according to Hinsdale police

The juvenile was treated for non-life threatening injuries, and police are searching for the man who assaulted her.

The man is described as 25 to 30 years old, about 6 feet tall with black hair and black facial stubble, according to Hinsdale police. He was wearing black sweat pants and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Police reported he attacked the girl as she was getting out of a car, and he ran toward the north after the assault.

Police have asked residents in the area to check home surveillance systems.

“A very serious crime was reported and we have a team of investigators and officers working on this case,” said Chief Kevin Simpson in a statement. “It’s very unusual for something like this to have happened at 2 in the afternoon and in such a well-travelled area, and we are hoping that someone saw something.”
