Key Hinsdale D86 Post To Go Vacant For Time
The school board delayed action on naming a new assistant superintendent for academics.

HINSDALE, IL – The Hinsdale High School District 86 board decided against taking action Thursday on approving a recommended candidate for a top post.
That means the position of assistant superintendent for academics is to go vacant starting Tuesday.
The current occupant, Jason Markey, is becoming the assistant superintendent for academics in Lisle School District 202.

In a discussion, board members generally agreed they wanted to interview two or three finalists behind closed doors.
Two members were involved earlier in the process, but not the full board.
Board President Catherine Greenspon said community members were involved in multiple rounds of interviews in 2020.
"It would be helpful if the same process were followed every single time," Greenspon said.
The board plans no regular meetings in July, but it has held out the possibility of a special meeting. Interviews could be held in such a session.
It's 151 days and counting since Markey's resignation was announced, with his last day on Monday.
The turnarounds were 125 days and 90 days, respectively, in 2020 and 2023.
