Kittens Showered with Supply Donations
The Hinsdale Humane Society hosted the 3rd Annual Kitten Shower on April 23.

Hinsdale, IL - In anticipation of kitten season, Hinsdale Humane Society hosted more than 125 guests in the shelter at the third annual Kitten Shower on Saturday, April 23.
Face painting, balloon animals, cat refrigerator magnet crafts, HHS cat bookmarks and a Kitten Activity Booklet were among the attractions for children. The kitten playroom provided an area for attendees to play with 8-week old kittens and learn more about them. Cat face cupcakes and lemonade rounded out the fun for everyone.
HHS was "showered" with more that $400 in cash donations and a playpen filled with donated kitten items such as food, toys, and kitty litter in addition to other much needed shelter supplies. HHS is grateful to receive these items used to care for approximately 250 kittens that will arrive at the shelter, typically from April through November.

Several kittens were adopted at the kitten shower, while others await their forever homes in the newly installed kitten "suites" in the Kitten Room at the shelter. These new enclosures, similar to those in the Cat Room, were purchased from donations designated specifically for this purpose. They contain 16 single suites that can be converted into 8 double suites that will each provide housing for as many as 5 kittens.
Kitten/cat lovers and potential adopters are invited to visit the shelter anytime during regular business hours, Tuesday through Sunday.
