41-Year-Old Man Was Trying to Lure Boys: Police

Jason Klostermann is now being held at the DuPage County Jail.

HINSDALE, IL — A woman is being hailed a hero for recognizing a man and young boy in a potentially dangerous "stranger danger" incident, following what appeared to be an attempted child luring Tuesday.

Jason Klostermann, 41, of Dolton, was arrested and charged with aggravated resisting arrest in connection with the incident, which occurred near Pierce Park in Hinsdale, ABC7 reports.

Diana Villegas said her son saw Klostermann lingering around the 8-year-old boy’s house prior to talking to him near Pierce Park, according to the report. Scared by Klostermann’s behavior, Villegas said, her son ran back to the house to tell her about their interaction. Once she got out to the park, though, Klostermann was gone.

His arrest was sparked by a separate incident around 4 p.m. Tuesday when he reportedly approached a boy to ask for directions near Justina Street and Ravine Road who was walking his dog. The pair walked for about two and a half blocks before a neighbor noticed Klostermann’s strange behavior and called 911.

Police are still investigating. Klostermann is currently being held in the DuPage County Jail.
