Man Enters Hinsdale Home Without Permission: Cops

In another case, a DUI suspect flees from police, but is caught, authorities said.

HINSDALE, IL – In the last few days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving a man trespassing in a house, a DUI suspect fleeing from an officer, a man asleep behind the wheel and a rent scam. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:

Trespasses in house

  • A 57-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 2 p.m. Friday on a misdemeanor charge of trespassing to a residence in the 500 block of North Oak Street. The man walked into the house without permission. The resident had contractors at the house, and the front door was open. The man was released and given a date to appear in court.

Aggravated fleeing

  • Dustin D. Nava, 40, of Brookfield, was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of South Jackson Street on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer and DUI. The man failed to stop for an officer and sped away, running several stop signs, police said. He refused to undergo testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. In 2018, he was also arrested on a DUI charge in Hinsdale.

Asleep behind wheel

  • A 46-year-old La Grange man was arrested on a Villa Park warrant and taken to the Villa Park police station. Police were called to a report of what was thought to be a broken-down car about 12:30 p.m. Sunday near Ogden Avenue and York Road. The La Grange man was found asleep behind the wheel.

  • A house in the 500 block of East Hickory Street was fraudulently listed as being for rent in an online marketplace Sunday. A person provided his information to the scammer and sent money through an electronic bank transfer before realizing he was a victim of a scam.

DUI

  • A 42-year-old Hoffman Estates man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Monday at Meyers Road and 22nd Street on charges of DUI, driving the wrong way and driving an uninsured car. He submitted to testing that indicated his blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
