More Hinsdale Paddle Tennis Courts Planned
Two residents next to the local park expressed concerns about the current courts.
HINSDALE, IL – A Hinsdale group plans two more paddle tennis courts at Katherine Legge Memorial Park.
Last month, the village's Plan Commission unanimously approved the proposed courts. It is set to take a final vote Wednesday.
The Hinsdale Platform Tennis Association is asking the village for permission to build two more paddle tennis courts at the park, in addition to its current six.

The project won't affect Hinsdale's budget, with the association covering the entire cost. The association plans to protect existing trees next to the proposed courts.
Because of technology improvements, the proposed lighting for the two courts will be more efficient than the existing lighting and produce less glare, according to last month's meeting agenda.

The association has had a good relationship with surrounding residents and received no complaints, the minutes said.
Burr Ridge borders the park to the east. Two Burr Ridge residents who live near the park attended last month's meeting and expressed concerns.
Tom Kosinski said he has heard foul language at the paddle tennis courts and that parking is an issue on the Burr Ridge side, with mailboxes and driveways blocked at times, according to the meeting minutes. And resident Chris Bryant asked the association to address issues such as flooding and inappropriate behavior.
Plan commissioners urged the association to work with neighbors. The panel meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Village Hall.
