Capri Restaurant Set For Clarendon Hills
The Italian cuisine eatery is expected to replace The George, which shut down several weeks ago.

CLARENDON HILLS — A Capri restaurant is coming to Clarendon Hills.
The Italian cuisine eatery is set to add another location at 1 Walker Ave., the former site of The George. Village Manager Kevin Barr told Patch The George had stopped operating several weeks ago.
Capri Lounge & Grill owner Joey Capri, whose family owns and operates restaurants in towns including Burr Ridge, Palos Heights and Willow Springs, said he’s excited about opening a restaurant in Clarendon Hills. He hopes to have it open by the end of July.

“I think it’s going to do very well,” Capri told Patch.
The Village Board voted on Tuesday night to approve the liquor license for the new Capri location.

"We're going to make it look like a nice, traditional time restaurant," Capri told the board. "We've been in business a long time, so this isn't our first rodeo."
Board President Len Austin offered a word of advice to Capri.
"Open, Joey, when you're ready and everything is right," Austin told Capri. "Don't rush things."
The restaurant will still have to go through health and fire inspections before opening, officials said.
