New Fuller's Tap in Downtown Hinsdale on Plan Commission Agenda

Still months away from opening, the owners of Fuller's Tap & Grill are going through the village approval process and will be before the Plan Commission Wednesday night.

The downtown Hinsdale sports bar that Doug Fuller Jr. plans to operate out of the southernmost portion of the Fuller's Home & Hardware building, 35 E. 1st St., is on the commission's agenda for site plan and exterior appearance approval. 


The two-story restaurant, according to Plan Commission agenda documents, would be 8,851 square feet. As a result, the hardware store would shrink down to 10,410 square feet.

"The exterior modifications include a new outdoor balcony for seating, new accordion style doors on the south elevation and two new wall signs," a memo from village planner Sean Gascoigne included in the agenda documents reads.

Paula Fuller, Doug's sister, told The Doings last month the family is planning on a Thanksgiving-time opening. 

Hinsdale director of economic development director Tim Scott said during last week's Administration and Community Affairs (ACA) Committee meeting that time frame is "aggressive."

The name of the proposed restaurant has changed to Fuller's Tap & Grill from Fullersburg Tap & Grill.
