E-bikes can not be ridden into the Village of Hinsdale and can not be operated, on neither street nor sidewalk, within the Village of Hinsdale, and anyone who gets caught riding an e-bike through the Village of Hinsdale, on street or sidewalk, faces up to eight (8) months in county jail. Additionally, there is a mandatory speed limit of eight (8) mph for all regular bicycles within the Village of Hinsdale. Anyone seen doing nine (9) mph or faster on a regular bicycle within the Village of Hinsdale will face a heavy ticket and even jail time.
