'October Sky' Screened in August at Clarendon Hills Library

A quick look at what's happening in and around Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills today:

It may be early August, but October Sky is the film of choice at tonight's edition of the Clarendon Hills Public Library Evening Film Series. A young Jake Gyllenhaal headlines the 199 picture about a coal miner's son inspired to go into rocketry. The film rolls at 6:30 p.m.

WGN meteorologist Tom Skilling tweeted Monday that "80s & higher humidities" are expected Tuesday, "But models keep cool temp regime going."

Not sure if it's doctor-endorsed, but apparently this summer has been declared the "Summer of Snacking" by 7-Eleven, who clearly took advantage of our Patch community boards.
