Our own Coach K retires from Hinsdale Inferno

Mike Kurkowski, President of Inferno, retires from Inferno Basketball leaving the program in a stronger position for future success

After years of dedicated service to the Hinsdale Inferno Basketball program, Mike Kurkowski is retiring as President of the youth feeder program for Hinsdale Central High School. Mike's tenure was defined by steady leadership, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the program’s mission of developing young athletes. Additionally, when the Inferno’s training partner abruptly parted ways, leaving the program without court space or a partner, Mike stepped up to provide solutions, broadened the all volunteer Hinsdale Inferno Board, brought community partners and leaders together, ensuring the players and coaches had the resources they needed to continue and that the program was not only in a good spot but in the best position it has ever been in it's 18 year history.

Beyond his role as President, Mike also served as an Inferno coach, contributing directly to the growth and development of countless young athletes. His passion for basketball and commitment to the community were evident in every aspect of his volunteer service.
