Police Stop Three Motorists for Sloppy Driving

In less than a week, Hinsdale police have charged three motorists with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Chul H. Kim, 61, 252 Berkeley Dr., Bolingbrook, was stopped for improper lane use at 12:52 a.m. March 30 while going westbound on 55^th Street at Garfield Street  to Monroe St. Police gave him a field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was charged with DUI, DUI +.08 blood alcohol content and improper lane usage.

Police reported stopping Charles C. Weathersby, 28, 1012 N. Waller Ave., Chicago, at 1:06 a.m. April 2 when they observed him speeding and using lanes improperly while traveling west on Ogden Avenue at Monroe Street. Weathersby failed field sobriety tests and refused to submit to a breath test. Police charged him with  DUI, Improper lane usage and speeding. He was charged, ticketed and released to appear in court.

Seon Yeong Kim, 29, 6724 Tudor Dr, Hinsdale, was stopped on Ogden Avenue at Madison Street at 3:13 a.m. April 3, police reported, for improper lane usage and speeding. Police also said that she failed field sobriety tests and submitted to a breath test, which indicated her blood alcohol content was greater than .08. Police charged her with DUI, DUI +.08, speeding and improper lane usage. She also was ticketed and released to appear in court.

Residential burglary—A resident of the 700 block of north Jefferson reported that entry was forced through the front door of the residence and personal identification items were taken sometime between 8 a.m. March 26 and 11:15 a.m. March 29. The victim was out of town during this time.

Disorderly conduct—Hector Armando Escobedo, 45, 2132 W. 23^rd St., Chicago, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at 7:22 p.m. March 27. Police said Escobedo drove his vehicle in the direction of a male family member, the victim, in a manner that made the victim believe he was going to be struck by the vehicle. The address for the alleged incident is Manor Care, 600 W. Ogden Ave. The suspect was released on bond.

Burglary to auto—A female victim told police that entry to her vehicle was gained by breaking the rear passenger window while the car was parked in a village lot sometime between 11 p.m. April 1 and 6 a.m. April 2. She reported that a faux gray snakeskin purse containing the following items was taken: $40 in cash, a German driver's license, a bank debit card, Social Security card and a Canon camera, for a total of $666 in damages and lost items.
