Porch Piracy Reported On 6 Hinsdale Streets

In another case, a man was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated fleeing, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

Porch piracy

  • Package thefts occurred Nov. 22 in the 300 block of North Washington Street, 800 block of South Monroe Street, 600 block of South Grant Street, 500 block of South Lincoln Street, 100 block of East Fourth Street and 300 block of South Garfield Avenue. A person was seen on surveillance cameras stealing packages delivered to residents' porches. The cases are pending.

  • Elijah J. Rainey, 20, of Westchester, was arrested about 9 p.m. Wednesday on charges of felony aggravated fleeing and eluding an officer, speeding 35 mph over the limit and running red lights. Police said an officer tried to stop Rainey for speeding near Route 83 and 55th Street, but he fled. Oak Brook police apprehended Rainey on eastbound Interstate 88, near Route 83. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
