Pricey Identity Thefts, Drugs, Attempted Break-In: Hinsdale Police Blotter
Take a look at what the Hinsdale police have been up to for the past week.
The following items were taken from the Hinsdale police blotter throughout the past week. All arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
DUI
- Lynn Rodriguez, 58, was arrested for driving drunk at 7:34 p.m. Jan. 23 after police found her at the site of a hit-and-run traffic crash. Rodriguez was found at 6th Street and County Line Road and taken to the hospital, where she cooperated with blood and urine tests. She was charged with the DUI, leaving the scene of a crash and failure to notify police before being released to appear in court.
Drugs

- Anthony Gryzlak, 20, was pulled over by police the afternoon of Jan. 30 because his car’s license plate registered to a different-make vehicle. When an officer found marijuana in his car, he charged Gryzlak with possession of cannabis in a quantity of more than 30 grams, but less than 100 grams.
Identity theft, fraud
- A Hinsdale resident living in the 10 block of Princeton Road recently reported an identity theft to police that took place between Jan. 9 and Jan. 12. She said someone withdrew $2,867.48 from her credit card account and then used her identity to open a new credit card in her name. No transactions have been made on the new account.
- Another resident living in the 10 block of South Oak Street said someone tried to open a credit card using their information on Jan. 11.
- An unknown person used another resident’s information to make eight fraudulent transactions totaling $2,083.18. The resident lives in the 100 block of Minneola Street.
- A resident living in the 100 block of North Clay Street said someone had tried to open several credit card accounts in their name the afternoon of Jan. 29.
Theft

- Someone a Hinsdale woman knew approached her at a gas station and asked for gas money around 4 p.m. Jan. 28. When the woman agreed to give her $20, the suspect stood next to her at the cash station and pushed a button to withdraw $60 instead.
Attempted break-in
- A man living in the 500 block of Mills Street told police that just before 1 p.m. Jan. 29, he noticed someone trying to force entry into his home through the front door. When the man approached the suspect, he fled without gaining entry to the home at all. The suspect was described as a white male wearing a dark hat.
