During October, ARC was involved in several rescue operations in Tennessee; the last occurring during the final days of the month. In Operation Fall Freedom, 82 dogs were removed from an overwhelmed animal rescue organization in which the rescue’s operator willingly closed the facility and relinquished the animals, recognizing they were not receiving the quality of care they deserved.

All rescued animals were brought to an emergency shelter where they were cared for by volunteers, treated for health issues, given inoculations and evaluated. ARC partners were contacted and made arrangements to transport the dogs to HHS and other area shelters.

In response to ARC’s placement request, HHS had available kennel space to accommodate five of the rescued Tennessee dogs. Three of the five have been adopted, leaving Wall-E, a 14-week-old Pit Bull mix puppy, and Marlene, a 6-year-old Pit Bull mix, both still in need of a home. These two dogs are ready to begin a new chapter in their lives in loving homes where they will receive the care and attention they deserve.

Please consider visiting the shelter to meet Marlene and Wall-E as well as the other dogs and cats available for adoption.
