Revenue at The Lodge Falling, Hinsdale Trustee Pushing for More Clients

The Village-owned facility in Katherine Legge Memorial Park is not recouping its expenses and at least one Trustee is pressuring a sales manager to make additional calls.

The Lodge, the Hinsdale-owned cottage facility in Katherine Legge Memorial Park, has not been attracting enough rental events, particularly from businesses, to recoup its expenses in recent years, the Chicago Tribune reports.

According to the paper, The Lodge's expenses in 2013 ($113,000) are outpacing revenue ($99,575), and revenue has been dropping steadily since 2009, facts which lead Hinsdale trustee and Administration and Community Affairs Committee chair Doug Geoga to question the effectiveness of Lodge part-time sales manager Jennifer Braun at a recent committee meeting.

"We've been trying to handle the business sitting at our door, that we haven't been capitalizing on," the paper reported Braun responding, saying with her cut hours, she had no time to make corporate sales calls, though various marketing progress had been made in online presence. "We've reinvented a lot this year."
