St. Isaac Jogues 7th Grade Basketball Team wins the most competitive Catholic School Tournament in Winning Fashion
The 7th grade basketball team from St. Isaac Jogues triumphed in the St. Petronille 56th Annual TREIS and AIRD Tournament this weekend, showcasing their talent and determination. Under the dedicated leadership of head coach Mike Kurkowski, the team delivered an outstanding performance that led them to victory. Coach Kurkowski expressed his pride, stating, "The boys played with heart and worked incredibly hard. This win is a testament to their dedication and teamwork. We're so proud of them."
Among the standout moments of the tournament was the contribution of Quinn Cox, whose father served as an assistant coach for the team. Reflecting on the victory, Quinn shared, "Winning the tournament feels amazing, especially with my dad by my side. It's a memory we'll cherish forever." Additionally, teammate Austin Kurkowski led the way in scoring and assists to open up the offense. Austin said, "It was a complete team victory. We are a tight group, that has fun so winning makes it even better." The accomplishment not only highlights the players' skills but also the strong community and familial bonds that support St. Isaac Jogues' athletic programs.
