These Hinsdale Streets To Be Repaved
Eight streets are set to be resurfaced later this year. All the bids beat the engineer's estimate.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale is poised to resurface eight streets around town later this year.
The low bidder for the work was Schaumburg-based A Lamp Contractors, at $1.4 million.
Seven companies bid on the work. The highest was from Cicero-based M&J Asphalt, at $1.7 million.

The village engineer's estimate for the work was $33,000 more than the highest bid.
Here are the streets that the village plans to resurface:

- Adams Street, from Eighth Street to south end
- Birchwood Avenue, from west end to east end
- First Street, Garfield to Park avenues
- Fourth Street, Lincoln Street to Garfield Avenue
- Grant Street, 55th to 57th streets
- Monroe Street, from North to Walnut streets
- Ninth Street, from Bruner Street to east end
- Park Avenue, from Chicago Avenue to First Street
The village said projects near schools will take place after school lets out for the summer.
According to a memo, Hinsdale has had a satisfactory experience with A Lamp Contractors, most recently with the 2017 resurfacing program.
The Village Board is expected to vote on the contract later this month.
