Trio Charged In Hinsdale Car Burglary: Police

After the local crime, the three were charged in another case in Vernon Hills, authorities said.

HINSDALE, IL – Three people were arrested last week after smashing a passenger window and stealing a woman's purse from her car at Hinsdale's Veeck Park, police said.

The car burglary occurred shortly before noon Jan. 28. The woman's credit card was then fraudulently used at a Hodgkins store, police said in a news release.

The three suspects, who were believed to be part of the Felony Lane Gang, were later arrested by Vernon Hills police on separate felony charges, authorities said. They were then taken to Hinsdale.

Arrested on car burglary charges were Kendia S. Ware, 27, Coconut Creek, Florida; William D. Fleinor, 26, of Miami; and Sherrod L. Robinson, 29, of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. Robinson was also charged with identity theft.

The Felony Lane Gang is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and is believed to operate nationwide, authorities said.

  • Three cars were hit about 8 a.m. last Wednesday near 55th Street and County Line Road. The suspect drove away. Police obtained a warrant for the person's arrest.
  • Someone hit a mailbox about 2 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of Bonnie Brae Road. The person drove away.

Theft

  • Christmas decorations, flower pots and other items were stolen between Monday and Friday last week from a front porch in the 200 block of South Bruner Street.

Fraud

  • A resident in the 200 block of South Madison Street received a phishing text and was instructed to open an e-currency account. The suspect transferred money out of the resident's account without consent. The fraud was reported Monday.

Car burglary

  • Someone broke into a car and rummaged through the interior about 2 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Chanticleer Lane.
