Tails on the Trails - Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. -4 p.m.
The Morton Arboretum is a “paw”fect setting for the annual Tails on the Trails to enjoy time with your pet while viewing canine demonstrations throughout the day and visiting with representatives from dog adoption agencies, shelters and local vendors. Come and visit us at the Hinsdale Humane Society table where we will be explaining our work and inviting participants to the shelter to “adopt, not shop”. Darien Pet Parade - Sunday, Sept. 13 from 2 - 4 p.m.
The 3rd Annual Darien Pet Parade will be held at Darien Community Park (71st & Clarendon Hills Road) and will include pet contests and prizes. There is a $10 fee for each dog participant. A portion of the proceeds will benefit homeless animals at HHS.

DuPage County Animal Care and Control’s Fall Festival Pet Expo and Adopt-a-thon - Saturday, Sep. 19 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Dog, cat, and small animal rescues, shelters, and pet merchandise suppliers will welcome participants at this Pet Expo held at the DCCACC Shelter, 120 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton. There is no admission, and there is free and ample parking.

Four-legged Friends Film Night - Saturday, Sept. 19 from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.
The North Lawn of Hinsdale Humane Society (HHS) becomes an outdoor movie theater for the HHS Jr. Board’s fall community event featuring a pet-related family movie. Invite your friends and neighbors to join your family and bring your family-friendly pet, a blanket and/or lawn chairs. A suggested donation of $10/family will benefit the shelter animals at HHS. Concessions, including popcorn, beverages and candy, will be available for purchase.

Rotary Run for Charity - Sunday, Sept. 20 beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The Rotary Run Charity Classic will be held at the Hinsdale Community House, 415 W. 8th Street, and will include an opportunity to run/walk with your favorite canine. Hinsdale Humane Society is participating in the Mutt Strut portion of the event beginning at 9:00am. This is a great opportunity to exercise with your dog while benefitting the shelter.

Puppy Party - Saturday, Oct. 3 from 1 - 4 p.m.
This year a Puppy Party kicks off Adopt-a-Dog Month at Hinsdale HumaneSociety. Come out on Saturday afternoon to meet the current puppy residents at the shelter, and consider taking home any of our wonderful adoptable pets. Dog food donations for a food panty are welcomed at this event to promote Adopt Don’t Shop, and giving back to the community.

Dogs 101 - Tuesday, Oct 13 from 7 - 8:30 p.m.
Join dog owners and dog lovers in this Hinsdale Humane Society HumaneEducation presentation at Hinsdale Public Library. This family-centered event will include a brief history of the human/canine relationship, the origin of various dog breeds, and noteworthy dogs. The focus will be on dog care and successful communication with dogs in addition to an explanation of how dogs are an integral part of society. The presentation will include dog demonstrations.
