Westmont Taco Grill Fight In Prosecutors' Hands: Cops

Youths caused more than $5,000 damage during an altercation, police said.

WESTMONT, IL – The case involving a fight last fall at Westmont's Taco Grill restaurant is in the hands of DuPage County prosecutors, an official said.

In response to a Patch inquiry, Westmont police Sgt. Rolando Padilla said in an email Sunday that local police have not received a response yet from the State's Attorney's Office.

He said the department would reach out to prosecutors this week and request an update.

A month earlier, Padilla indicated the case had been sent to prosecutors.

Shortly after midnight Oct. 27, youths who appeared to be high school age caused an estimated $5,000 in damage to Taco Grill, 111 W. Ogden Ave. At least one person was injured, police said.

Later, a GoFundMe page was set up to help Taco Grill to make up for its lost income after having to shut down for a time after the fight.

Shortly after the incident, Patch obtained a 1½-minute video of it. Patch reported on the dialogue of the youths before the altercation.
