Woman Surprises Burglar in Her Hinsdale Home
Police checked the area Wednesday night but weren't able to find the man.

A man forced his way into a Hinsdale home Wednesday night in the 10 block of Glendale Avenue.
A woman was home during the burglary, and she said the man came in through a side door and went to the second floor, according to Hinsdale police.
The woman surprised the burglar, and he ran from the home. As he was leaving, she heard him talking on the phone, but she didn’t see him.

Hinsdale police were called around 11:10 p.m. to investigate.
The man is described as about 25 years old, wearing a white T-shirt, dark jeans or sweat pants and a gray baseball hat with a blue rim, police reported. Officers checked the area but weren’t able to find him.

Hinsdale residents in that neighborhood who may have video surveillance from a private residence are asked to contact the Investigations Division at 630-789-7070.
Anyone who sees unusual or suspicious behavior should contact the Hinsdale Police Department by calling 911. It’s helpful to report an accurate description of suspects, including clothing, height, gender and race, police report, or the color, make, style and license plate of a car.
