1 Dead After Single-Vehicle Crash On Cedar Road: Sheriff

The crash happened Wednesday afternoon at Cedar Road and Chicago Bloomington Trail.

HOMER GLEN, IL — A Palos Park woman has died after a single-vehicle crash in Homer Township on Wednesday afternoon, the Will County Sheriff's Office said.

Police said that deputies responded to Cedar Road and Chicago Bloomington Trail at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday for a reported vehicle crash. Deputies found a vehicle in the ditch on the west side of Cedar Road.

Members of the Homer Fire Protection District were already on scene providing medical aid to the driver, the sheriff's office said. Preliminary investigation shows that the vehicle was traveling south on Cedar, when it left the road, rolled over, and the driver was ejected.

The driver, a 30-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries, according to the sheriff's office. The Will County Coroner's Office identified the woman as Joanne Bryja, of Palos Park.

This incident remains under investigation by the Will County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit.
