1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured In Lockport Twp. Head-On Crash: Police
One person was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash on Route 171, which remained closed for several hours as police investigated.
LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP, IL – One person was killed, and another was seriously injured early Wednesday after a two-vehicle head-on crash on Illinois Route 171 in Will County, police said.
The crash took place at 6:38 a.m. just south of Riley Avenue, according to the Illinois State Police. Police have not made details about the crash but said that one person was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and another person was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said.
All lanes of Route 171 remained closed until just after 10:30 a.m. while police investigated the scene. No further information has been released about the cause of the crash.
