1 More Week Of Gen X Exhibit At Illinois State Museum Lockport Gallery

Take a look at telephones with cords, cassettes and parachute pants at the Gen X exhibit.

LOCKPORT, IL — There is just one more week left to visit the Gen X exhibit at the Illinois State Museum Lockport Gallery.

"Growing Up X" opened last fall at the Lockport location, and showcases the toys, technologies and cultural milestones that Gen Xers saw in their childhoods, according to the museum.

Generation Xers are those born between 1965 and 1980.

The exhibit shows telephones with cords, records, cassette players, parachute pants and more.

"Additionally, they will learn how growing up in the shadow of the Vietnam War, the Cold War, the AIDS crisis and the War on Drugs shaped Gen Xers as individuals and a generation," according to the museum.

The Lockport Gallery is at 201 W. 10th St., and is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday.
