110 Citations Issued During Lockport Police's Memorial Day Enforcement
Lockport Police wrote 52 citations for seatbelt violations.
LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Police Department said it issued 110 citations during the recent Memorial Day “Click It or Ticket” enforcement period, according to a release from the department.
The “Click It or Ticket” campaign aims to change the behavior of the millions of people who don’t buckle up. Thousands of lives could be saved each year if every vehicle occupant was properly restrained when traveling, according to the release.
Lockport Police wrote 52 citations for seatbelt violations; and also had three DUI arrests, one drug arrest, two suspended/revoked licenses, eight uninsured motorists, 21 speeding citations and 30 other moving/equipment citations.

The Illinois “Click It or Ticket” campaign is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation with federal highway safety funds.
