CHICAGO (CBS) -- Football, friendship, and fundraising—that is how organizers described a watch party Monday night that raised money for Bears legend Steve "Mongo" McMichael.

The Hall-of-Famer has been battling ALS. The fundraiser Monday night is also intended to raise awareness about the disease.
"Giving saves lives, and it helps individuals live whatever life they have left to its fullest," said former Chicago Bear and McMichael teammate Bruce Herron. "So we appreciate everything you can do to help those folks afflicted with ALS."
