Celtics Spread Holiday Cheer at Victorian Village Christmas Party

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Providence Catholic Celtics, the 2024 Illinois Class 4A State Baseball Champions, volunteered their time at Victorian Village's annual Christmas Party. This special event gave the student-athletes a meaningful opportunity to spread holiday cheer and connect with the residents of this vibrant senior living community.

Not only did the team serve meals but also took the time to sit with the residents, listening to heartwarming holiday memories and traditions, and even chatting about baseball. The evening featured a delicious holiday meal, festive refreshments, music, and plenty of holiday decorations that created a warm and festive atmosphere.

Laughter and conversation filled the room as generations bonded over stories. Many residents expressed their admiration for the players' respectful and compassionate demeanor. Residents and staff highlighted how the students’ genuine kindness made a lasting impact, reinforcing the values of truth, unity, and love that the Providence Catholic Celtics embody.

Coach Smith, who accompanied the team, expressed immense pride in his players. "I was very proud of the boys last night! They represented our school, program, and families very well," he said.

Inspired by their experience, some students expressed interest in returning for further volunteer opportunities at Victorian Village, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to giving back to the community.

The Victorian Village Christmas Party has long been a cherished tradition, and this year, the Celtics baseball team added a new layer of excitement and joy.
