Extensive Damage To Home After Fire In Lockport: Fire District

The district said it responded at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to Stephanie Drive for a fire in the garage that was extending into the attic.

LOCKPORT, IL — One person had minor injuries after a house fire in Lockport on Tuesday, according to the Lockport Township Fire Protection District.

The district said it responded at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to Stephanie Drive for a fire in the garage that was extending into the attic space of a single-family home.

The occupants were home at the time of the incident and were able to evacuate, the fire district said. One of the occupants was treated for minor injuries.

The incident was elevated to the full still alarm level, which brought in equipment and personnel
from East Joliet, Homer, Lemont, New Lenox, Northwest Homer, Plainfield and Romeoville
either to the scene or to assist with covering the remainder of the fire district.

The fire is being investigated by the Lockport Fire Investigators with no cause listed yet, according to the fire district.
