Fire Damages Apartment Unit In Lockport: Fire District
The fire is being investigated by the Lockport Fire Investigators and appears to be accidental.

LOCKPORT, IL — An apartment fire was reported Saturday morning in Lockport, according to a news release from the Lockport Township Fire Protection District.
The fire district said crews responded at 10:52 a.m. Saturday to Ashley Court North. Crews arrived on scene and found smoke coming from the third-floor window of a 12-unit apartment building.
Crews made a "quick attack" and were able to extinguish the fire, limiting damage to the affected
unit, the fire district said. All the building’s occupants were able to evacuate the building safely. One occupant was treated on scene for smoke inhalation.

The incident was elevated to the "full still" alarm level, which brought in equipment and personnel
from Bolingbrook, East Joliet, Homer, New Lenox, Northwest Homer, Orland Park, Plainfield,
and Romeoville, either to the scene or to assist with covering the remainder of the fire district, according to a release.
