Girl Scouts Ask For Grocery Gift Cards For Foster Kids

One Girl Scout Troop is asking for gift card donations to give to foster families alongside gifts they're already donating.

A groip of Girl Scouts is spreading some holiday season love and is asking your help. Trinity Lutheran Girl Scout Troop #65163 is giving a gift to all 70 foster children at SOS Children's Village this year, but their work doesn't end there.

The troop, alongside Santa, is making their generous donation of gifts on Friday, Dec. 21, and are hoping to include gift cards for grocery stores to alleviate costs. This is where you come in.

"We want to take it one step further and here is where we need your help! We are asking for donations in the form of grocery store gift cards (Jewel, Aldi and Walmart) to give the SOS Lockport Village to help those 70 families even more this Christmas," the Troop said.

If you can donate a gift card to help these foster kids out, contact Sarah Martinez

SOS had reached out to the Troop for support previously, Martinez said, and they were about to get the 70 gifts within 24 hours. "The girls this year absolutely amaze me!" she told Patch.

"Thank you so much for any donation you can give! We are so proud and thankful for all those that donated a present already to a foster child," Martinez said.
