Homer Glen Plans First Kids Fishing Derby

The Village said there will be prizes for the biggest fish and the most fish caught for the catch-and-release derby.

HOMER GLEN, IL — The Village of Homer Glen is planning its first kids fishing derby, set for July 20 at Heritage Park.

Registration is required for the event, and can be done so online.

The Village said there will be prizes for the biggest fish and the most fish caught. There will be two sessions offered, one from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., and the other from 10 to 11 a.m.

Fishing derby rules state that all participants must be 15 or younger, and the derby is catch and release only. The fish will be measured by event judges.
