Lockport Alderman Patrick McDonald Dies
"Pat fought a courageous 18-month battle with cancer and passed away [Tuesday] night surrounded by his loving family," the City said.
LOCKPORT, IL — Alderman Patrick "Pat" McDonald of the 2nd Ward died Tuesday, the City of Lockport shared.
McDonald had served as an alderman since 2022.
"Pat fought a courageous 18-month battle with cancer and passed away [Tuesday] night surrounded by his loving family. In recognition of his life and service, the City will lower flags to half-staff," the City said in a news release. "Pat’s story is one rooted in hard work, family, community, and faith."

McDonald co-founded Andromeda Technology Solutions in 1994 and served as Vice President of Security, Telecom and Technology Integration up until his recent retirement. Under his leadership, Andromeda became a long-standing Lockport business and an important contributor to the local economy, according to a news release.
McDonald shared his life with his wife, JoAnn, and they raised three children and were blessed with seven grandchildren.

"Pat and his family have long been active members of their local church, and their belief in God and family guided how they lived and served," the City said.
McDonald also gave his time to youth sports organizations and community programs that helped shape the next generation.
"Alderman McDonald’s commitment to Lockport and its residents was genuine and deeply felt. He cared about the people he served, especially those in the 2nd Ward, and he carried his responsibilities with humility and pride. His voice, his leadership, and his presence will be greatly missed," the City said.
